Sameshwar Maharaj: The Guardian of Life and Divine Balance

In the hearts of the locals, Sameshwar Maharaj occupies a space of deep reverence. He is the guardian of all, ensuring that the rhythms of daily life flow smoothly. With his generous spirit of Audariya, he exists not for himself, but solely to give—facilitating life on earth while allowing the soul’s journey inward to unfold with ease and less obstruction.
The centuries-old temple dedicated to him stands as a testament to both faith and craftsmanship. Originally built with local stone, it has now been reconstructed in wooden style, a tribute to the ever-living energy of this sacred place. Someshwar Maharaj is also representing Shani Dev, the planet of justice and discipline, and some even believe he is an incarnation of Lord Shiva (Soma - ishwar), embodying strength, protection and literally instant reciprocation.

As Shani, he is the brother of Yamuna, whose river flows nearby, a constant reminder of the divine family that weaves the fabric of this land. The village of Kharsali in essence is beautifully woven with Prakriti (nature), Samskar (tradition), and Utsav (celebration)—each element creating a harmony where Jeevandhara (the life force) flows effortlessly.

Here, every corner of the village is suffused with the energy of Someshwar Maharaj, a guiding presence in all challenging times. Be it heavy rains or fatal illnesses. - He is the go-to figure for support and strength.
A protector who reminds us that we are held in the care of higher powers. The temple, the people, and the very landscape are all part of this living, breathing force—dependable, vibrant, and holistic, blending the earthly with the divine.

Soon after we visited Yamuna Devi Temple, where we met Her beloved pujari, Shri Shekhar Uniyal. A person with depth in the eyes, and Urja that was evident, and spoke some lofty words - Ganga is knowledge, Yamuna is devotion, Kedarnath is vairagya. He is also the Pujari of Sameshwar dev and His instrument to help mankind.
