Wooden Homes Woven with Warmth

Scattered across the Himalayan slopes are beautiful wooden homes, timeless in design and perfectly adapted to their environment. They form living ecosystems, responding to environment, climate and deep-rooted tradition.

Each house rises in three thoughtful layers, shaped by the demands of the harsh winters. The ground floor is reserved for cows and buffaloes; their warmth and the gentle heat from their dung rise naturally. The middle level shelters sheep and goats, while the topmost floor is where the family lives—wrapped in the natural insulation of life below.

These homes are not just built from wood and stone but from an extraordinary love—for the land, for animals, and most of all, for each other. There’s a quiet interdependence here, where every living being has a place and purpose. Warmth, both literal and emotional, rises from the ground up.
